CHRISTOPHER SAHADEO
Senior Software Engineer
Christopher pursued a BSc Double Major in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of the West Indies St Augustine, graduating in 2019 with first class honors. His areas of expertise at Virtana center around Robotic perception: camera driver integration, camera calibration and infrastructure design and development, but he tends to be interested in any technical, non-trivial software engineering problem. His technical interests lie in algorithms and computational optimization. When Chris isn’t at the office, he enjoys the pastimes of photography, hiking and non-fictional literature.
Past Projects:
Calibration
As a Technical lead, led the development of an automated calibration pipeline for a camera-based industrial robot arm workcell. (2021, Numpy, Scipy, OpenCV, Python)
Developed a calibration station and purpose-built optimizer to calibrate the intrinsics and extrinsics for multiple rigidly attached stereocameras with non-overlapping fields of view. (Python, OpenCV, C++, Scipy, Jaxopt)
SW Infrastructure
Wrapped various depth sensor SDKs to operate seamlessly with a client’s existing middleware framework. (2020, C++, Python)
Cloud Backend
Contributed to the development of edge and cloud backend tools to manage configuration, control, performance, and error reporting for a fleet of industrial robot arm workcells. (Golang, Firestore, Google Cloud Platform, Stackdriver)
