MATTHIAS ELLIOT

Software Engineer Intern

Matthias is a 2nd year student currently pursuing a BSc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of the West Indies. He has worked on a water tank monitoring system, consisting of a cross-platform application and embedded software for the monitoring device. He has also been a part of the winning team for a regional CubeSat design competition, where he worked on the mission design and the communications subsystem. He is particularly interested in the application of AI and robotics for automation and providing assistance to humans.

For fun, Matthias has studied the Japanese language at various institutions, and hopes to improve and eventually learn more languages. Additionally, he has a budding interest in amateur radio and currently has his license. At Virtana, Matthias works on pose estimation using LED fiducials. Being employed here has heightened his interest in computer vision, and has given him valuable experience and knowledge on working in the robotics field.
